Let it go for peace of mind

A young man and his wise Uncle entered Starbucks a man sitting near the back door ran out almost knocking over a table The young man , went immediately after him, with no explanation to his Uncle His uncle caught him at the door " where are you going ? " That guy Is Jim. He owes me $20 He has been avoiding me for weeks .He won't take my calls , I am going to catch him and get my $20 back . Before you do that can I ask you a couple of questions? Quick I got to catch that jerk" the young man said Do you like Jim ? No Is he a positive or negative person ? Negative Do you want him in your life ? No Then let him go Why ? Think it thru isn't $ 20 a cheap price to keep Jim running away from you ? I,d pray he keeps running Thats best $20 you will ever spend Bonus story A little bird was flying back to its nest with a large piece of bread A flock of much larger birds saw the bread and were trying in mid air to take the bread from him The little bird did his best evasive moves But the larger birds were relentless Exhausted the little bird let go of the bread The Larger birds flew to the ground to get the bread And the little bird had his peaceful sky back Peace of mind ,for a piece of bread and $20 Let go

On praise and criticism

During World War 2 ,unbeknownst to either man, Both Winston Churchill and U.S General Macarthur had the same plaque hanging on their office walls .In both of their offices the plaque was front and center for all to see and read.

The plaque read /

"If I tried to answer all the criticisms of me and all the attacks leveled at me ,this office would be closed to all other business. My job is not pleasing others, but doing the best I can.If in the end I am found to be wrong, ten legions of angels swearing I was right will not help me ; But if the end proves me to have been right all that has been said about me now will amount to nothing "

The words on the plaque were written by Abraham Lincoln in 1864 during the heights of the American civil war. They were written to an advisor who wanted Lincoln to push back on the Newspapers at the time , The press was awful to Lincoln, they printed cartoons of him depicting him as Baboon.Editorials were written that accused him of being a war monger , a cold blooded murderer with blood on his hands who valued the lives of slaves over the lives of "Americans".

When Lincoln was shot and killed ,His wife Mary was summoned to the coroners to pick up the items found in Mr Lincolns pants .The items were a pair of scratched eyeglasses in a silver case ,a small vial of glass cleaner , a handkerchief,a hand watch , a pocket knife , a wallet with a 5 dollar confederate bill in it and 9 worn and obviously read often newspaper articles.

The newspaper articles were all favorable to Lincoln , some said he was a great man , others talked of the courage of his convictions, others stressed his honesty. Some said that he had saved the Union and thus the United States. They all said he was doing the right thing and implored him to continue the good fight for equality and a restoration of the divided Nation.

The 9 articles were nothing but words on paper, scraps of old newspaper clippings. The kind, one would shred up and put at the bottom of a Parakeets cage. But to Lincoln they were precious ,so much so that he carried them with him everywhere he went .

Why?

Because Lincoln knew that the right words could put steel in ones spine.Lincoln knew that encouragement is the oxygen of the soul.He knew that everyone ,no matter how exalted or diminished needs affirmation. And he knew thru the articles ,he was not alone.Others cared ,others were there to support him when he needed them and that is what sustained him and gave him the additional strength he needed.

Churchill, Macarthur, Lincoln... great men,,,, human beings.Human beings that being like everybody else, they hurt at times ,they have fears at times and they have doubts at times. But they overcame them with help of the encouraging words of others.

The surest way to see if you are making progress and are succeeding is to see people taking shots at you.Criticism is to be expected anytime we make a change, make a decision or change directions.Lincolns plaque says it all ,do the best you can......... And then Trust the results to God or the universe..... Let the criticizers and condemners jabber like Parrots ..no statue has ever been made of a critic , they don't build great things ,they just like to try and tear them down.. .

The final whistle

Emotional beings 👍 I watched a local football match in a school playing ground. As I sat down, I asked one of the boys what the score was. With a smile, he replied; they are leading us 3-0. And I said, REALLY. I have to say you don't look discouraged. "Discouraged" the boy asked with a puzzled look. Why should I be discouraged when the referee has not blown the final whistle. I have confidence in the team and the managers; we shall definitely overcome. Truly, the match ended 4-5 in favor of the boy's team. He waved at me gently, with a beautiful smile as he left; I was amazed, mouth wide open; Such confidence; Such beautiful faith. As I got back home that night, his question kept coming back to me - ..... Why should I be discouraged when the referee has not blown the final whistle. Life is like a game.... Why be discouraged, when there is still life. Why be discouraged when your final whistle has not sounded. The truth is that many people blow the final whistle themselves.... But as long as there is life, nothing is impossible and it is never too late for you. Half time is not full time..... Don't blow the emotional whistle yourself!! 🙂

Pain

Be grateful to people who give you pain, trust me you have an amazing story to share later, you learn many things coz of that pain. No pain, no gain.

Your days define your life

Your days are your life in miniature. As you live your hours, so you create your years. As you live your days, so you craft your life.
What you do today is actually creating your future. The words you speak, the thoughts you think, the food you eat and the actions you take are defining your destiny - shaping who you are becoming and what your life will stand for. Small choices lead to giant consequences-- over time.
Each one of us has an exquisite power within us. Each one of us can have a significant impact on the world around us-if we choose. But for this power that resides internally to grow, we need to use it. The more you exercise it the stronger it gets. The more this power gets tapped, the more confident you become.
The best among us are not more gifted than the rest. They just take little steps each day as they march towards their biggest life. And the days slip into weeks, the weeks into months and before they know it,the arrive at a place called Extraordinary.

Complacency

The moment you stop doing the very things that got you to the top of the mountain is the very moment you begin the slide down to the valley.
The more successful you and your organization becomes, the more humble and devoted to your customers you need to be.

Window of opportunity - Robin Sharma

Every day, life will send you little windows of opportunity. Your destiny will ultimately be defined by how you respond to these windows of opportunity.
Shrink from them and your life will be small. Feel the fear and run to them anyway, and your life will be big.
Life is too short to play little.
Even with your kids you only have a tiny window to develop them and champion their highest potential. And show them what an unconditional love  looks like.
Seize the gifts that life presents to you by grabbing these windows of opportunities by playing it bold inspite of fear.
